If you are having issues logging in to schools.shmoop.com via a Google SSO link, whether it's within another system such as Clever, or by accessing the link directly please follow the directions below to resolve this issue.
Before continuing on with these troubleshooting steps, please be sure your system meets or exceeds our minimum requirements.
Our Google SSO link utilizes a Google Authentication pop-up. If you see an icon in your browser URL bar identical or similar to the picture below you must allow pop-ups from these pages to continue.
Instructions to allow these pop-ups are linked below.
- Block or Allow pop-ups in Chrome
- Block or Allow pop-ups in Edge
- Allow pop-ups in Internet Explorer 11
- Allow pop-ups in Mozilla Firefox
Safari has no per-website control over blocking pop-up windows, and therefore we do not recommend its use for www.shmoop.com or schools.shmoop.com.
If allowing pop-ups doesn't resolve the issue, please move on to step 2.
Verify you are able to access the Google Authentication portal by visiting this link.
If you see this message and error, your system is working correctly, please move onto step 3.
If you are not able to access this link, or if you see a different message that the page has been blocked or is not accessible due to content filters please reach out to your network administrators to have them lift this restriction.
Verify that your Google account is allowing sign-in prompts at the link below.
Clear your cache and cookies and re-try the Google SSO link.
You can find instructions on how to clear the cache and cookies for your browser listed below.
If you are still experiencing issues after following these instructions please reach out to your Network Administrator, as there may be content filtering or firewall rules that are restricting your access to Shmoop. Please have them refer to this article for more information on our whitelist.
